Windows 10: I uninstalled one drive but m not able to set the location for 'Documents' and 'Pictures'...

So, in my Windows Explorer > left pane > This PC > Documents/Pictures > right click > Properties > Location Tab, the location is set to 'C:\Users\GDM Music\OneDrive\Documents' and 'C:\Users\GDM Music\OneDrive\Pictures'. If i Click 'Restore Default' > apply , it asks for : -if i click 'Yes' then it show an error 'The folder can't be moved here':- Same goes for the Document Folder, How can i deal with it

Correct Directory Location For Pictures Folder

"Now Documents, Videos etc say file location is This PC. But Pictures file location is C:\Users\PeteyBoPetey\Pictures."

If we understand you correctly, the issue is that Pictures doesn't appear in the left panel under This PC. The correct location IS C:\Users\PeteyBoPetey\Pictures. This is only an issue of using Step 8 in the tutorial to add it back to the list. See if this screenshot is what you want to achieve- put Pictures folder back in list on L.

 

Change defalut drive for Download, Documents, Pictures, Videos, etc on Windows 10

Managing storage space and default hard drives is made easy with Windows 10. Here are the steps:

• Click Start and click the gear icon, or press Windows+I.
• On the Settings window, click System.
• Click Storage.

From there you can change save locations of apps, documents, pictures and etc. Note that this process won't change the location of the apps that you have already installed. You can uninstall the apps, change the settings and reinstall the app to apply the
settings.

Not able to change location of Documents and Pictures under This PC from One Drive to the Local drive

After all of the attempts suggested here, I came to the conclusion that Microsoft had set the Default Location for Documents and Pictures to be the OneDrive folder and did not allow for changing of this Location. There was no Location tab in the Properties
window for these folders, where on other folders (and on my other PC) it's available.

Since I had a full back-up of my files (and since I've exhausted the suggested options and my patience) I opted to Reset the PC and reload from scratch.

When prompted if I wanted to sync my files to OneDrive or have on Stand-alone PC, I chose the latter. This properly set the Location for Documents/Pictures to the C:\Users\Myname location - and, incidentally, the options to change Location in the Properties
section is now available.

I'm going sans-OneDrive for now to preserve what remains of my sanity.
