Windows 10: i updated from activated windows 10 enterprise to windows 11, now its saying its inactivated.

I got a new laptop that came with windows 10 enteprise. it gives me option to upgrade to windows 11 in the settings, when i upgraded, it asked me the product key which i did not know, and hence the windows 11 stayed inactivated, at that time i didnt know what t do so i downgraded to windows 10 the next day of upgrading, my windows 10 is licensed and activatedm then why it asks me product key when i upgrade to windows 11, i want to update to 11, but not sure how to get it activated, i used these commands in my windows 10 to get complete lisence information: slmgr -dli and slmgr /dlv.

Well, at the moment at least, you can choose to defer upgrades. Under Settings > Windows Updates > Advanced options you need to check the box labeled "Defer upgrades". What does that do? Good question. The answer I've found might illuminate it to a degree.

I hear this only applies to Pro and Enterprise editions. But I can't verify that.

 

Windows 10 Activation (Insider)

How long did you wait for activation?
When I re-installed with a fresh install... it took a few hours to sync and activate.
However, it did, finally, activate.
