Windows 10: I updated windows 11 and my laptop keeps shutting down repeatedly

When I'm playing BF V, which used to work with no issue, now after a couple of minutes in, my laptop just shuts down and restarts, and when I look at the logs I find some DistributedCOM errors like: The computer's default authorization settings do not grant Local Activation authorization for the COM server application with CLSID {C2F03A33-21F5-47FA-B4BB-156362A2F239} and APPID {316CDED5-E4AE-4B15-9113-7055D84DCC97} to the user's SID AUTHORITY NT\SERVICE LOCAL S-1-5-19 from the address LocalHost with LRPC running in the SID Unavailable of the application container Unavailable. Windows shuts down repeatedly

I'm running Windows 10 Pro, build version 19041.450. And it keeps repeatedly shutting down spontaneously.

I've run various anti-virus and spyware programs. And system file check as administrator. Plus checked all driver updates.

I'm using the hot spot in my iPhone XS Max to connect to the internet. And run trouble shooter in Control Panel for internet and no problems found there or in any of the above.

Any suggestions short of reloading a Macrium Image would be appreciated.

 

Laptop Shuts Straight Off During Windows 10 Upgrade


Hey Josiah, sorry I can't help, but I signed up to say the same thing is happening to me.

Computer shut off this morning during update and then repeatedly while trying to reboot - I don't know if it's going to be able to restore to a working version of 8.1.

This is like the 6th time I've tried to update now. Previously I was getting the error 3000D when it restored Windows 8.1. I have HP DV6 1329tx laptop.

One thing I'm going to try tonight is taking out the battery and trying to keep the laptop cool - very unlikely, but I wonder if there's something particular about the update process that's making it overheat and shut off?

Anyone else with suggestions, please help us!
