Windows 10: i upgraded to w10 at 32-bit instead of 64. What should I do?

I checked the wrong box. How can I correct it, and does it have to be before deadline?

How do I remove the "upgrade to Windows 10" promtp/update????

As the original Samsung installation was a 32 bit thats what I installed as the W10 upgrade. I would have expected to get a new licence for a 64 bin install. Unless the installation process installed a 64 bit instead.

 

Install W10 32 bit after 64 bit installation?

I upgraded my computer from W8 32 bit to W10 64 bit to take advantage of my installed 6 GB RAM instead of being limited to 4 GB RAM under the old system.

Now that I have upgraded, I find that running my 32 bit Turbocad program I run out of RAM memory when I render a drawing. I have since found out that W10 64 bit limits 32 bit programs to 2 GB.

Would the installation of a dual boot 32/64 bit OS allow me to run the program and access more RAM?

If so, I upgraded to W10 64 bit by uploading the free installation program. How would I install a 32 bit OS?

 

As long as you have 32-bit Windows 10 installed and fully activated you are fine. You will have to download the 64-bit ISO file, make a Windows 10 USB flash drive or DVD, boot the computer from that and do a clean re-install of Windows 10 64-bit. You can't change between 32-bit and 64-bit by "upgrading". You have to clean install the opposite architecture.

 

Thank you. At least now I know. But, machine is fully activated for 10....and I need a cleaned-up system anyway, so I guess I can come in off the ledge now. Appreciate the help.
