    JSON FILES

    Hi Acemere

The steps above create a dummy exe file, which you point windows to open json files with, then you delete the dummy exe and restart, When you restart the dummy exe will not exist, so Windows will not know how to open json files and that file association will
revert to unknown and the icon should be the default white icon . ..

  3. Can't delete the JSON files

    Hello,SLYER

Thank you for posting in the Microsoft community.

I understand that your JSON file cannot be deleted, this file is usually automatically generated by the application program, if your application program has not been successfully deleted, then the JSON file can not be deleted, in order to help me better provide you with technical support, please provide the name of the software related to the file you need to delete?

In order to help me provide better technical support for you, could you please provide me the name of the software you need to delete the file? I will continue to pay attention to this issue and help you to delete the file successfully!

    Can't delete the JSON files

I am using Windows 11 currently on my laptop. I was trying to delete some of the JSON files (that come along with media in Google take-out). Whenever I select a JSON file(hardly 1kb) and click delete it starts loading and never proceeds and after a while the File manager window crashes. (I tried deleting other files and it was all okay, clearing the recycle bin, checking if the Files are open , restarting the PC ..but the problem persists.
