Periodic ping spikes for wireless network adapters

    Hi guys!

I have been having issues with my wireless network adapters since upgrading to Windows 10 earlier this spring. What I've noticed is that I consistently get periodic ping spikes (~3k ms) at regular intervals, which means I'm essentially unable to play any online games (specifically CS:GO and DOTA2) on my desktop. A wired connection is not an option for me, as the socket is too far away from my room.

Initially I was able to stabilize my wireless connection by reverting to an older driver for my Netgear wireless dongle. This changed after the Windows 10 anniversary update (was that the name of the new update...?) and I'm back to getting periodic ping spikes again.

I've tested both of my wifi dongles on my laptop and I get a consistent connection with no spikes during those tests, meaning that the issue shouldn't be with the dongles.

I've done a lot of googling to try and find a fix but nobody seems to have the exact same issue that I have and I'm honestly desperate at this point. I've updated drivers, so the problem shouldn't be there. Could the problem perhaps be in power supply?

    My computer specs:
    CPU: Intel Core i7-4790K @ 4.00 GHz
    GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 760
    Memory: 10 GB RAM
Motherboard: Asus ROG Maximus VII Ranger
Network Adapter: Netgear A6100 wifi dongle
    Asus EZ N802.11b/g/n wifi dongle

Also my router is the Netgear R6100 (dual band).

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

i have tried all of these and none of them work for me. some have worked temporarily but none permanently. i have checked other computers on my network and they all work fine. i have tried replacing my wifi adapter,
no luck. I have tried other online games and pinging 1.1.1.1 using command prompt and it shows the spikes there so it isnt game specific. I would really appreciate some help. thanks.

I use a wireless adapter on my pc because my bedroom has no ethernet, but i get ping spikes...

Keep getting ping spikes while using Wi-Fi.

Hi. Recently (since about a week), i have been getting regular ping spikes while playing the MOBA game ''League of legends''. Everyone 5-10 seconds or so my ms goes from a stable 30 to about 150. This issue does not only occur while playing League of Legends but also when playing other games. The spikes seem to always occur in important situations throughout the game.

I have done multiple Wi-Fi tests which have been extremely unstable as sometimes the test just doesn't work or some other times i get a result as high as 70mb/s for download and 50mb/s of upload. I have updated all of my drivers and have done multiple malware scans. I have also checked task manager while in a game to see if anything was using up Wi-Fi but nothing pops up.

I don't think the problem has to do with my router or internet provider since my my Wi-Fi works fine on every other system that is using it (Ipad, phone, other computers, consoles, etc...). I am not using Ethernet by the way, I am using a wireless adapter. The Wi-Fi worked alright before and I have no idea what caused it to suddenly stop working.

    Please help *Sad.
