Windows 10: I want Mountain Lake scene back on my screen please. I hate the drying lake you stuck on...

You kept asking me if I liked a new picture when I first opened my lap top. I loved the mountain lake scene, the one you STUCK me with is ugly of a drying up lake and it is depressing. Please replace the original picture of the mountain lake scene for me. Thank you.

Windows Spotlight only shows Mountain Lake picture.

Windows Spotlight has a very strange behaviour. After about 5-6 weeks with the mountain lake picture it finally changed picture. Then, after 24 hours it changed again but this time to a blank screen. Then after another 24 hours it changed back to the mountain lake. Now it's been nearly 2 weeks with the mountain lake...

Hopefully it will be fixed with windows 11... but most probably not.

Unfortunately that did not help in the long run.

My laptop that I used during summer will mostly show a blank screen now instead of the mountain lake. My stationary that I've been using for the past month has only shown the mountain lake (fifth week now with the mountain lake). I've tried to reset the Spotlight service as I did before but this time nothing happened.

Therefore I'm wondering if there is some software configuration or setup that is interfering with the service? Some firewall rule, antivirus blocking something, not using Microsoft Edge as default browser, etc. Same picture on two different PCs with sort of the same setup software-wise and configuration. I have changed harddisks on both with new reinstall of Windows. That didn't help.

I have basically never seen another picture than the one with the mountain lake on Windows Spotlight.





I have followed all the guides I've found how to reset windows spotlight by deleting all files under

..\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Windows.ContentDeliveryManager_xxxxxx

I also ran powershell scripts to delete those files and reset windows spotlight. The results varied between Spotlight working for a couple of weeks before getting stuck on the mountain lake or showing a blue screen. Latest reset I have done didn't work at all. Mountain Lake has been showing for more than a week now.

I read that in Background Apps settings Microsoft Edge should be running. I can't find that setting there but when looking in Microsoft Edge settings I see that "Continue running background apps when Edge is closed" is enabled. Settings is also enabled to run in the background.

I have had this problem on my old PC with a local windows account. And I have the same problem with my new PC with a Microsoft account.

I don't know if it's that picture that breaks windows spotlight or if I have some special setting on my PC blocking Windows Spotlight? I have no add-ons installed for Edge. I use Chrome and Firefox. Can Chrome add-ons interfere with Windows Spotlight?

What else can I try to fix Spotlight? I'm getting quite tired of that Mountain Lake
