Windows 10: i want to add a genre heading for my music as a sorting option

I've noticed in windows explorer I can add folder columns with headers such as Genre but in no way can I add any information into those additional columns such as artist, genre, albums... Why can I add the column but not edit the header... silly.. Best option ive heard so far was it can be done by editing details under windows music file by file. I'm trying to make organization simple not harder. I just want to be able to take a big data set and add broad catigories that i can enter headers in to help me sort through with a single click. please and thank you.

Missing Genres in Xbox Music Store

I noticed this as well, and it perplexed me. It seems like all the music is still in there, but the genres list appears to have been compacted. I'm not particularly happy about the change, since I used genres to sort through to the type of music I like.

Actually what I'm looking to do is sort a genre by album, not by song. Every modern music service I know has this secondary sort option. So for example view all jazz albums.

Thank you for posting on the Forum regarding Xbox Music app.

If you access Genres, you will see the list of songs (the artists should be displayed under each song).
