Windows 10: I Want to Be Able to Sign Out of My Hotmail Account After Setting Up Microsoft Mail App...

I activated and sent an e-mail for first time through the local Microsoft Mail app on my PC . I signed in to my regular Hotmail account using the app. I cannot sign off now. Privacy is important. What to do to avoid being permanently signed into Hotmail whenever I turn on my PC. I want to be able to

Microsoft Launches Windows Live Hotmail Worldwide

Microsoft Corp. today announced that Windows Live Hotmail, the successor to MSN Hotmail, is launching globally in 36 languages. Windows Live Hotmail will deliver a safer, more powerful and productive e-mail experience than previous versions with flexible access via the Web, on a mobile phone or with an e-mail client. As Windows Live Hotmail begins rolling out on May 7 and continues over the coming days, consumers will be able to visit Outlook – free personal email and calendar from Microsoft to sign up for a new Windows Live Hotmail account. Current MSN Hotmail customers can also update their existing account to Windows Live Hotmail by logging into their account and clicking on the green Join Windows Live Hotmail button. Later this month Windows Live Hotmail customers will also be able to access their Windows Live Hotmail e-mail and contacts for free using Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 or Office Outlook 2007 via the new Microsoft Office Outlook Connector beta.

My hotmail account could not be added to the mail and calendar app

Method 2:

If the issue still persists, let's try to follow these steps below, to fix your issue:

Add and remove the Hotmail account on Mail App:

I suggest you to remove Hotmail account and add this account again in Mail app.

Try these steps below to delete the Hotmail account on Mail app.

• Type Mail App in the search bar on the desktop and click on Add account in the Mail app Window.
• Check for Hotmail account on Choose an account Window, then Tap or click the Hotmail account you want to remove.
• At the bottom, tap or click Remove account or Remove all accounts, thus remove the Hotmail account.

Try these steps below to reconfigure Hotmail account on Mail app.

• Type Mail App in the search bar on the desktop and click on Add account in the Mail app Window.
• Check for Hotmail account on Choose an account Window. If it is not available, go to Other account.
• Add you Hotmail account Email address and Password in the Other account Window and check, if it works.

Method 3:

If the issue still persists in the Microsoft user account, let's try to run Microsoft account troubleshooter and check, if it works.

The Microsoft Account Troubleshooter scans a Windows 10 system for issues and repairs problems that are found in relation to your Microsoft Account.
