Windows 10: I, want to Be able to STOP, Taskbar Hover-Over Popups: or Adjust Visibility Duration

I'm using • Windows 11, v23H2, x64Bit Edition.I, am getting Annoyed by the Popup Balloons when You Hover over OPENED Programs on the Taskbar.Is there a way to STOP & REMOVE them Permanently.? or to Shorten the Time they Stay on the Screen.?I, would prefer to STOP them altogether.Please, Advise, & Thankyou in Advance.

Another option is adjusting the appearance of your computer, click the start menu and type "adjust the appearance and performance of Windows" press enter and uncheck all those UI that you don't want to see on your system, there is an option there to disable it through the taskbar.

Taskbar Hover-Over Popups: Hide/Remove or Adjust Visibility Duration

I'm looking to either completely hide the window popup balloons / tooltips, or reduce their visibility duration down from their current ~6 seconds to 1-2 seconds:





This used to be possible with earlier versions of Windows, but this has plagued me in both Windows 10 & 11, and is present across all of my devices: my Asus TUF Dash f15, Alienware X15 R2 and my Surface Pro 8 all on Windows 11.

My Asus and Surface Pro are Win 11 Home whilst the Alienware is 11 Pro, so only have Group Policy Editor on the Alienware for registry settings, although I couldn't see any options in gpedit on my Win Pro machine.

Any ideas how I can resolve this?

Win 10 suddenly stops Task Bar Browser Icons Popup on Mouse Hover

Hi, I understand you do not see taskbar thumbnails when hovering over an active icon on the taskbar.

You could use this recommended reputable free tool to try re-enabling that - by unchecking the box of course.
