  1. I want to import the photos and videos from my phone but it asks me to allow Microsoft...

I've got a phone with a cracked screen that has a couple months worth of photos/videos that were not backed up due to storage limitations in Google photos. I plugged it into my computer running Windows 11 and it asks me what I want to do with the device. I go to import photos/videos and I get a message that a notification was sent to the phone asking permission for Microsoft photos to access it, I can't accept that request because of the forementioned cracked screen. Any way to bypass this?

    :)

"import" doesn't show up in Photos

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I understand that you are unable to import photos in the Photos App from your iPhone. Please let us know the details:

    • Which build version of Windows 10 are you using currently? To check type:
winver in the search bar on the Taskbar and hit
      Enter.
    • Were you able to import the photos earlier?

I would suggest you to refer the steps mentioned in the article
Import photos and videos from phone to PC
    and

Transfer photos and videos from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
to import photos to your PC.

However, as you have mentioned that the app closes automatically, I would suggest you to refer the steps mentioned in the article

Fix problems with apps from Microsoft Store
    and see if that helps.

Let us know how it goes.

  3. Import photos and videos from phone to PC

    Hi MariaMNJ,

    [Import to your PC]

You can import photos to your PC by connecting your device to your computer and using Windows Photos app:

Make sure that you have the latest version of iTunes on your PC.

Importing photos to your PC requires iTunes 12.5.1 or later.

Connect your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your PC with a USB cable.

You might need to unlock your iOS device using your passcode.

You might also see a prompt on the iOS device asking you to Trust This Computer. Tap Trust or Allow to continue.

Then, follow the steps in these Microsoft knowledgebase articles to learn how to import photos to Windows Photos app:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/402713...

When you import videos from your iOS device to your PC, some might be rotated incorrectly in Windows Photos app. You can add these videos to iTunes to play them in the correct orientation.

If you have iCloud Photos turned on, you need to download the original, full-resolution versions of your photos to your iPhone before you import it to your PC.

Hope this helps you with your concern.

Please give us feedback if this works.

Thanks and have a good day!
