Daily I have to open around 5 excel sheets for my work, they are all interlinked and work simultaneously. But somedays I miss one or two excel sheet and it takes a long time to figure out which excel sheet I have missed. Is there a way I can see the status of a excel file whether its open or not as one of the columns of details in file explorer.

Simply, HOW? I got the DDS plugin but the POS wont open DDS files still. Can someone give me a step-by-step rundown of how to install the DDS plugin for gimp so I know if I'm missing something?

I suggest you to follow the below steps.

1) Right click on the file and select choose another app to open. It will display the list of apps to open.

2) If the app is not listed then select more apps and check if you can find it.
