I want to lock my computer with the password required after waking up from the sleep mode. However, it always just logs into the desktop after waking from the sleep mode without any password needed. I'd searched and tried the solutions from the internet while they didn't work for me. These are the 3 methods I'd used yet turned out no avail :1. Settings -> Accounts -> Sign-in options -> When PC wakes up from sleep.2. gpedit -> Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> System -> Power Management -> Sleep Settings -> Require password battery and plug changed

I would suggest to disable fast startup and hibernate until you resolve the sleep issue:

Let’s try simple steps and check if this helps. Follow the below steps.

• 
  Press Windows key + R, try powercfg.cpl and press Enter.
  
• 
  Click on current power plan settings and click on Change plan settings.
  
• 
  Click on Change advance power settings and click on Sleep to expand.
  
• Click on hibernate, settings and set the time for hibernate.

You can also click on current power plan on top of the list to expand.

Click on required password on wake up and set it to yes.

Password required after sleep mode.

My windows 10 now goes into sleep mode after 5 minutes and then asks for a password. This is not something I have set and it will not let me change it in power options or under accounts-sign in options were I get a message in red saying 'Authentication
is required when this PC wakes from sleep. Security policies on this PC are preventing you from changing this setting.'

I can not extend the period before it goes to sleep. I have followed several threads and they are suggest these two options, but how do I disable or edit these 'security policies'?

Advice on this would be greatly appreciated.
