Windows 10: I want to make sure my usb stick doesn't have malware.

So, about like 2 years ago I ended up getting RAT malware on a test laptop, it was fine because it was a test laptop I was going to completely destroy with all types of malware and finish it off with Memz anyway, but my dumb self left my usb stick in when I got the RAT malware, luckily I realised I had my usb stick in before I killed the laptop with other malware, but, what I want to know is if i can safely wipe the usb stick without infecting my device, because the only device I have currently is my main laptop I do stuff on, and I don't want to risk it because many have said that the usb could have some sort of auto run malware, I know that I have a few of my own files on it because I viewed the contents with an xbox one but I see nothing else and I still don't want to take a chance.

What do I do?

Windows doesn`t start. Authomatic repair doesn`t work.

I`m sorry I had not noticed that the text on the picture was in spanish. It says that windows has replaced some damaged clusters in "name" file and "directory". Then, at the end "an unspecified error occurred (75736e6a726e6c2e 4f6)".

I`ll do it and I`ll be updating this thread when I have the report.

Hi yall and thanks for the replies!



Unfortunately, the were of no help.



The phone isn`t listed in device manager, the list of devices doesn`t change if I have my phone connected to my computer(s). There are no mystery devices, no yellow triangle -markings or anything even remotely pointing to the direction the phone being connected.

It could be that my phone has a broken usb port, but it makes me wonder that it still charges the battery when connected to a computer.



This is not a big problem for me, that I must admit, but still, it kinda bugs me that the phone doesn`t work the way it`s supposed to work,



Anyways, if somebody comes up with something that might help, I am most grateful.

edit: Also, I have my laptop almost always connected to charger. Tried without charger just for the heck of it, didn`t help.

 

Installing windows off of a USB stick

Step By Step from vista:
From admin cmd prompt

1. diskpart
1a. list disk
2. select disk 1 (replace 1 with your usb drive)
3. clean
4. create partition primary
5. select partition 1 (replace 1 with your usb drive)
6. active
7. format fs=fat32
8. assign
9. exit

Copy Windows Vista's DVD ROM content to the Flash Drive

xcopy d:\*.* /s/e/f e:\ (d being your vista cd and e being your usb stick)

And that's it, boot off your usb disk
