Windows 10: I want to reset my laptop without removing pre installed apps.

Is it possible to factory reset without deleting the apps that came on the laptop?

Hello.
I have a question about uninstalling Microsoft's pre-installed apps on my Windows 10 Pro 21H2 computer.

I've read lots of different articles w/lots of different information. So yes, I'm a little confused.
What I want to do is completely remove some of Microsoft's apps & make sure they do not re-install during an update or if a new user account is created.

I've heard about O&O Buster, Store Apps Uninstaller, IObit Uninstaller & using the Windows PowerShell (which sounds most thorough, but complicated). Can anyone give me suggestions?

I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps.

Step 1: If you want to un-install Groove Music try the below steps.

• 
  Type Windows in the search box and right click on Windows PowerShell and select Run as administrator.
  
• 
  Type get-appxpackage *Microsoft.ZuneMusic* | remove-appxpackage
  on the PowerShell and hit Enter.
  

Once you un-install the app, if you wish you can install it again from the Windows store.

If I reset my laptop (that came with pre-installed manufacturer apps) will they still be there like when I purchased the laptop?

If you use the Windows Reset functionality or use the Media Creation tool, that will remove all the OEM applications, drivers, pre-installed apps . . etc.

Basically, you will be left with a new version of Windows 10 . .

Most new laptops or PC's come with a utility which allows you to create bootable factory recovery media on a USB drive and if you create that and use it, your laptop would be exactly like when it came out of the factory, OEM apps, drivers . . everything

In the alphabetical list of installed Apps, scroll down to find the manufacturers folder(s), do you see the option there to make recovery Media?

If so, use that option . . .

Otherwise, you would need to clean install Windows 10 using the media created with the Media Creation Tool, then when that completes, you would need to go to the support page for your laptop on that manufacturers website, then from there, download and install
a full set of device drivers and OEM utilities and software . . .
