Windows 10: I want to start Remote Desktop Services but I get ERROR 126: The specified module could not...

I tired to use sfc /scannow in cmd prompt, I have restarted my computer, and nothing is working. My computer is running on Windows 11. If anyone could help that would be appreciated.Also, previously, RDS was working but I stopped the service and now when I want to restart this service, I get that error message. I suspect I may have deleted some important files related to RDS or something and I don't know how to get them back.

Remote Desktop Service is not working - Error 126

Good afternoon,

Remote Desktop on Windows 10 Pro it's not working anymore.

After reviewing the problem I have detected that the "Remote Desktop Services" service is off. If I try to start it, I get the following error:

"Windows could not start the Remote Desktop Services Service on Local Computer - Error 126: Specified module could not be found ".

Could someone help me?

Can't turn on remote desktop service

I have a windows 10 pro and when I turn on Remote Desktop Service from the settings it says it's On but the service isn't started and the port isn't listening, even though when I try to start the service manually it says Error 126: Specified module not found, windows is updated to the latest version

 

Cannot start Remote Desktop Service

I have a new Windows 11 PC and I am not able to start Remote Desktop Service. Based on other threads, I think BitDefender altered the registry for TermService.

I have another Windows 11 machine where it starts fine. I exported the registry for term service and imported it on the problem machine. Rebooted the PC and tried to start Remote Desktop Service. I still get Error 1053.

Any suggestions?
