I want to use Nvidia Highlights but it says I need to deactivated HDR.

    Hello Community,

I have a GTX 1060 and DirectX (dxdiag) says my GTX 1060 don't support HDR.

I know my AOC 24G2U Monitor isn't HDR Ready. I want to deactivate HDR to get some Highlights, but is it Win 10 or my monitor with a fake HDR setting...

Under the Windows 10 Settings it says

HDR-Video streaming: NO HDR-Gaming and -Apps: NO WCG-Apps: NO

In the notification it says to deactivate HDR

  2. Microsoft and Nvidia Development team confussion regarding HDR FIX

Hey, many if you have this problem regarding HDR fadeing colors, washed-out colors while you active your HDR settings from withing windows display settings. I had contacted nvidia and microsoft support till i had reached an lvl 2 support using an remote
session on my rig from behaf microsoft support.

Here is nvidia lvl 2 support answer (hope i wont get in trouble by copy paste this)

    Hello Stefan,

My name is Manuel and I am part of the NVIDIA Customer Care escalations team. Your case was escalated to us. Unfortunately there is not much we can do. The washed out colors you are seeing is partially
because what Windows is doing in HDR mode is effectively emulating sRGB output in HDR mode. While Windows is doing it correctly, the brightness for SRGB is kept lower. On top of that, some TVs boost saturation when it detects low brightness. To get the best
output from the NVIDIA graphics card, please do the following (make sure HDR is enabled in Windows before you do the following):

    1) Open the NVIDIA Control Panel
    2) Select the Change Resolution panel
    3) Change the color from RGB to YCbCr 4:2:2
    4) Hit apply
    5) Now change your color bit from 8-bit to 10-bit

This will give you the best setting.

Windows 10 is improving the HDR experience with each major update.

    Best Regards,

    Manuel

I did exactly what he told me but that didn't fixed anything.

I had made everytrouble steps possible you could imagine none worked.

I had sent my TV and my PC back to seller and manufactured thinking my devices are faulty but none where faulty

So finally i had decided that it is impossible to fix this issue by my own or using nvidia and microsoft tech support.

So a guy from Tech-Support lvl 2 Microsoft called Jet who tried to solve my issue using remote session understood that this problem is a major one which needs to be reported to development team of microsoft to caught their attention regarding this issue...

So best way to solve this problem is if we client, users, people would use microsoft window hub feedback report suggesting development team to fix this major issue regarding HDR...would be an awsome update fix for all of us who own an 4k HDR display tv or
monitor or if you are planning to buy one please use Hub Feedback (type in cortana search bar to find it)

I want to use Nvidia Highlights but it says I need to deactivated HDR.

Windows 10 and Samsung CHG70 32” HDR monitor

I have the lastest version of Windows 10 fully updated as of today and current version of Nvidia drivers. I have SLI Asus Strix 1080 cards.

The monitor is 2560x1440 @ 144hz with HDR. I can enable HDR in display settings. Monitor shows DisplayPort HDR.

So when I try play World of Warcraft and as soon as i click mouse button the display blacks out and goes to saying DisplayPort and not HDR. Colors are at this point messed up. If I alt-tab out and back into game its fine till click mouse again. If I turn
off HDR in display settings it seems fine. If WoW does not support it why does it start with on? Not sure how to fix this.

Next issue. With HDR on again and run Resident Evil 7 which I believe supports HDR the option in game settings for HDR is greyed out.

    Anyone have suggestions?
