Windows 10: I Want Windows 10 To Never Install Anything From Outside Of The Store

so they don't make any money ?
okay they can be at the store and offer it for free

or be outside the store (and since there users are developers they will know how to enable installing from outside the store)

but Windows is a mainstream OS , it's used by more than billion (and most of them are not advanced users)
shouldn't windows works great for them ? and the advanced users like us will have an option to enable installing from other sources (just like we do today with Android)

 

No,, the purpose of Open Source is not to make money. And I still don't want to have go to the store to install any of the things I use. The problem I see is that you're trying to impose what you want on others and I can't go along with that one bit.

 

I think Windows store will not be like the apple store , they already promised photoshop element will be there , so we can test it when windows 10 is out and see if it is worse or the same as the photoshop elements of today.

 

First off if you really like Mac OS or Android use them. Trying to keep others from hurting themselves is just silly.. there are lots of ways to get malware or viruses and no matter what anyone does people will continue to get them.

and no no , I don't want to impose anything on you , from the start I said they should have an option in the settings to enable installing from any source for power users like you (like Android today)

the fact that it's optional will mean 2 things :-
1- windows by default will be very safe for normal uses (they will never get hit again with adware , malware or ransomware, just like the ipad)
2- this will encourage developers to get their win32 and .net apps on the store ASAP

 

I use Android , I also use windows , as a windows user I can't see the good parts of other systems and ask Microsoft to implement them ?

there are a lot of ways to die , is that an excuse to make houses less safe with no windows or doors , of course no , today installing apps from outside the store is a common way of getting malware , adware and ransomware , why not fix this issue in a way that take nothing out of windows , just adding more safety .

 

First off you don't understand Open Source one bit.. having it in the store would mean that they would have to have multiple sources for Linux and OSx. And why should they have to port it to the store when the way it's distributed now just works.

And finally, I don't want to use the store to get my software. Period.. you seem hung up on this my way only approach and I strongly disagree with this and I don't think others should have to tweak the settings to install things that they have for years.

 

I think that there's a lot of misunderstanding about difference between "Open source" and freeware.

 

I get open source , it's okey for them to make money (you were mistaken on this one) and it's okey for them to compile a version for the store from time to time , if they don't want it's okey they can do it the current way.

and go read the first page , no one said you'll be forced to use the store , there should an option to enable apps from any source just like android and mac os .

 

so checking a box in the settings is unacceptable.
normal users getting adware , malware and ransomware all the time is okey , this is not logical.

it should be that normal users by default can't get adware , malware and ransomware , and advanced users can check a box in the settings or toggle something if they trust that they can keep their PC safe from adware , malware and ransomware

 

people can sell open source software , also can sell free software (free as in freedom) , freeware is the free of charge software.
