i was reading data from an old hardrive using a usb3.0 to ide/sata and now ive updated to window 11 from 10 it wont even recognize or try to read it. is there something else i need?

Can I recover data from my old IDE/SATA hard drives?

I have multiple hard drives from old computers that I am trying to recover data from. I have a USB 3.0 to SATA/IDE adapter. But, when I plug it in to my Windows 10 desktop and turn it on, the file explorer stops responding? It seems to freeze the whole
desktop? How do I get the data from old IDE/SATA hard drives?

 

IDE with SATA wont recognize

I tried today an old IDE i had 3 years ago
The IDE itself works
It turns out that the computer wont recognize the SATA drive 1TB i have
Any suggestions?

Also, when i formatted with windows 7, it didn't install the updates
For example, gpu, network drivers, mouse etc

And in device manager, it even writes it Hitachi 1TB

 

Can data from old IDE drives be read and retrieved in windows 11?

I am attempting to read my old IDE drives in windows 11 using a Fideco USB 3.0 to IDE/SATA converter cable. Nothing is showing in disk management that detects it, other than a delayed sound notification that a USB device was connected. Is this a controller issue with windows 11? In any regard, how may I be able to resolve this issue? thank you
