I was using Windows 11 Photos and after doing some scrolling within a folder, I found almost all of the resolutions had been changed from 2400 dpi to 96 dpi. How did this happen? The 2400 dpi settings were from scans of 35mm slides using SilverFast 9 and an Epson 4490 scanner. Whatever changed the dpi did NOT change the file size. Is there any way to change the dpi back to 2400? Or does it even matter?

    :)

WINDOWS 10 -- Photos App Why cant I use my arrow keys to scroll through photos in a folder?

I tried a number of troubleshooting steps provided in other support threads, with no apparent resolution. Finally, I discovered that I could scroll through photos in a folder I created this morning, but still unable to do so in older folders.

Inspecting the folder properties (right click on folder > Properties), I found a difference in the Customize tab. When I changed the 'Optimize this folder for:' dropdown from the default of 'General items' to 'Pictures', I was able to scroll through photos
again in my older folders as well.

I had followed Smittychat's suggested steps posted on Jan 1st 2017 yesterday, so that may have also set the stage for the above folder property change to work:

    Redirecting

Hope this finally helps those that were unable to resolve solely with other recommended steps.

WINDOWS 10 -- Photos App Why cant I use my arrow keys to scroll through photos in a folder?

I found an answer to this problem that works. I open all my photos using 'Photo Gallery' In the top menu bar this gives the following : Edit, organize or share, File, Email, Print and slide show.

In the bottom task bar you can move forward of back to the photo next or previous, rotate, delete and enlarge.

    Hope this helps.

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK
