I will like to know how my Windows Defender Core Isolation Protection Turned off by itself?Today I opened my windows defender and checked Device Security, and found that Core Isolation was disabled. I did not disable it, and I installed any new software other than through edge. Like the Browser app that uses the browser window, from My understanding, this is secure. These security settings are being changed by themselves, so this is serious. I am also experiencing setting Changes and Link injections. When I use Bing.com and search, I get an odd redirect, and then when I do a manual search, I g

Not able to perform steps in Option 1
Under "Windows Defender Security Center", "Device Security" is not an option.
Winver reports Version 1709 (OS build 16299 402)
The processor is Intel I3
Virtualization is enabled in system BIOS.


Please advise.

It looks like the .reg file in step 2 of Option Two in this tutorial worked to turn on Core isolation for you.

Correct, you could use step 3 to turn it off.

People should be aware that some of the antivirus products are negatively affected by core isolation.
For instance, I just now tried installing Kaspersky Internet Security 19 (Release Candidate version).
Even though Kaspersky already put out a patch providing "full support" for April Update, after the installation finished a page displayed a long list of protections that Kaspersky can't do, because of my device security settings.
I heard that other AV products also have problems, but I don't know details.
So, if you plan on staying with Windows Defender, Core Isolation is great...
