Windows 10: I would like to ask on how can I verify my Windows 10 Product key?

Hi, I'm a Windows 10 Home Single Language user before and I upgraded my laptop to Windows 10 Pro. I purchased my operating system from an online store with a physical CD and an unscratched product key. Now, I want to make sure I'm using a genuine operating system because I don't want my laptop warranty to be voided as a result of this action.The information of my current operating system is attached to this message. I have remove sensitive information to protect my privacy Hoping for a response from a Microsoft Expert or Microsoft Staff to serve as evidence from the store to avoid complicat

Why was I not asked for a product key when upgrading to Win 10?

According to your spec you have Win 10 Pro, but perhaps that doesn't reflect your PC.

You haven't stated which edition of Win 10 you have on this machine, nor what your Win 10 key is for.

For example, if you already have Win 10 Pro and your key is Win 10 Home, that would be a retrograde step.

Windows 10 Upgrade Assistant asking for product key


So make sure that you are attempting to upgrade to the Home Single Language Edition. The "about" system settings screen will tell you if it is 32-bits or 64-bits (operating system):





Using the media creation tool, you want the matching 32-bit or 64-bit Single Language Edition:





From the Windows 10 ISO download site, it's just listed as Single Language Edition:





Doing an upgrade to the correct edition Anniversary Update should not ask for a product key.

 

Windows 10 product keys and activation - and the KMS angle

Changing the product key to the generic Windows 10 product key will reset activation to the standard retail channel for activation. It might just activate (if there was a previous digital license for Windows 10 for that computer established with Microsoft). Once Windows 10 is back on the retail activation channel, then more than likely changing the product key to the Windows 8 product key using the same method may work.
