I find the "Shake to Minimize" function bothersome. Often times, I have 10 different windows open, that I am actively using, and they seemingly minimize "without a reason" until I read about the "Shake to Minimize" function. The articles I've found, to disable this function, detail how to do it via the Registry. Is there an option within Windows itself? I don't have admin access on my work laptop and I would like to disable this function "natively" within Windows' 10 Configurations and Settings.Thanks.

    :)

  2. Disable Aero shake windows 10 without admin

    Hi ErikSwanson-

I'm Kevin B. Independent advisor and a Windows user like you. I do apologize for the inconvenience about the aero shake, let me help you sort things out.

Aero Shake is one of the many features introduced with Windows 7 and continues to be part of Windows 10 as well. The feature enables you to quickly minimize all open windows except the currently active window by shaking the currently active window or using
Windows logo + Home keyboard shortcut.

Enable or disable Aero Shake via Settings

The Aero Shake feature doesn’t work if the Snap is turned off.

Step 1: Navigate to Settings app > System > Multitasking.

Step 2: Turn off Arrange windows automatically by dragging them to sides of corners of the screen option to disable the Aero Shake. Turn this option on to enable Aero Shake

If you don’t want to turn off the snap feature or the multitasking features to get rid of Aero Shake, refer to the directions in Method 2 or Method 3.

That is the simplest way to disable it but again if your company has a restriction about the admin rights it will be hard for you to do this.

Also, if you have a IT administrator you can actually request to disable to functions about your Aero shake.

Hope this will help and have a blessed day!

    Thanks.

    Kevin B.

  3. How to disable auto minimizing in XLaunch?

    Hi Ahmed-ES,

    Welcome post in Microsoft Community.

I'm Mosken, I do apologize for the inconvenience that you're experiencing right now, let me help you sort things out.

According to your description, I knew that when you move XLaunch to another desktop while in full screen, the window is automatically minimized. If my understanding is wrong, please correct me in the reply.

First of all, by "a different desktop", are you referring to the Windows virtual desktop, or your extended monitor desktop?

If it was an extended monitor, how did you move it?

    • If you're dragging with the mouse, it's important to note that dragging and shaking the window for a long time will cause other windows to be minimized except the one you're dragging.
    • It is suggested that you can try Win + Shift + ←/→ to move the window.

If it is a virtual desktop,

    • it is recommended that you use the regular size move when moving. Because this function only provides a very basic multi-desktop function, it may not meet many usage scenarios.
    • If you have a strong demand for the function you describe, you can give feedback in the "Feedback" application(launched by "Win" + "F") which Windows built in, and the developers will consider and try their best to help solve the problem.

According to experience, you should use the visual interface in WSL through this software. This may be related to your display settings in the subsystem. Because this forum is aimed at ordinary individual users, providing them with solutions to problems encountered in relatively basic daily use. I suggest you go to Technology Forum & Developer tools, technical documentation and coding examples | Microsoft Docs for help. This community caters to IT professionals who can provide advanced troubleshooting steps for your concern. You can click Q&A to post your question.

The above steps are provided based on the information I have learned so far, I wish that will be helpful to you. If your problem still cannot be solved by these steps, please tell me more specific situation in the next reply. I will continue to assist you in solving the problem.
