Windows 10: I would like to have my webcam record for a longer period of time.

I have a Dell laptop, originally Windows 7 but upgraded to Windows 10. The webcam works fine and saves photos and videos to Camera Roll but the webcam stops recording when the file size gets to more than 2GB, which takes 3 hours of recording. I get a message that the file size is getting too large so the webcam stops recording. I have 122 GB of free space left on my computer. Is there a way to extend the webcam recording for a longer period of time? I'm using the webcam to monitor sleep for health reasons.

The webcam's functionality may be affected by the settings of the application you're using. The webcam's settings and the application settings can collide. We'd like to ask a few questions to help us identify why there's no video output:

• What applications are you using with the webcam?

We suggest that you run troubleshooting for Audio Recording by following these steps:

• Type troubleshooting on the search box.
• Click View all.
• Select Recording Audio.
• Follow the steps to troubleshoot Recording Audio.
