Windows 10: I would like to have the first few lines of a file displayed in File Explorer search results

Hello, all


I would like to have the first few lines of a file displayed in File Explorer search results -- this helps me in deciding which file to open. Although "Content" is highlighted in the View menu, the search results give only the path, the date modified, the name of the file, and "Authors".


Can someone suggest a way for me to have the first few lines of a file displayed in File Explorer search result? I've seen these first few lines displayed in the past, but I can't remember how I succeeded in doing this.

No Instant Search Result in File Explorer

When searching in file explore search results are displayed right below the search bar in a list, but only when you hit Enter, the complete result is displayed.

How do i restore it so i have Instant Search Results.

File Explorer Search: Results not opening


When I use File Explorer Search in my user folders, the results appear to have lost their association and do not open when I click them.

Note the icons have gone, the folder is not listed. Clicking the file does zilch.

• Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc and locate for Windows Explorer.
• Right click on the Windows Explorer and click on End task.
• On top of the Task Manager click on File and click on
  Run new task.
• Type explorer.exe inside the box and hit Enter.
