  1. I2C HID Device error: how to automatically disbale the checkbox "Allow the computer to turn...

So i just found out that somehow my laptop's touchpad randomly disabled when on battery. I updated the drivers, uninstall and reinstall several times, downgrade from windows 11 to win 10 but nothings work permanently. The temporarily fix is boot into safe mode and uninstall device and restart. And I noticed that every time I re-enable my touchpad, the checkbox" Allow the computer to turn off the device" is ticked but I'm pretty sure that I untick it every time. I wanna ask if there is any script or registry edit that make it automatically disable when boot

    :)

  2. I2C HID Device Error possible fix?

After multiple times facing this issues, I figured out that this issue somehow relate to the CHECKBOX "Allow the computer to turn off this device" in the "Power" tab. So, if you encounter such an error, the first thing you need to do is find a USB Mouse (or if you don't have one, you can still use the Tab key and the Arrow). Then, boot into SAFE MODE and uninstall I2C HID. Then restart and check if it works. If not, you can try repeating the above process a few more times

Note 1: Make sure you uncheck that box "Allow the computer..."

Note 2: Make sure you enable the touchpad by using the Function (Fn) shortcut or something similar (depending on the laptop manufacturer)

NOTE 3: somehow (maybe it was the hardware issues I think) this error will still return and somehow windows will re-enable the checkbox "Allow the computer" so I think you can use a script to uncheck the box when you start the computer . If you know how to uncheck the box automatically, please share with me below

Touch screen stops working -I2C HID device error

I have a LG gram laptop 16T90P-KAAE7UI running windows 11. In the last few months, touch screen has been intermittely stopping working. The device manager always showed there was an error in I2C HID device - This device cannot start (code 10). Usually, I could recover by doing one of the following things:

    • disabling and enabling the device,
    • simply rebooting the system or
    • uninstalling the device and then restart the laptop.
Today, after pushing the sleep button on the side of the laptop and then pushing it again to wake up the laptop, touch screen completely stopped working. None of the methods mentioned above works. Touch screen function refues to work and device manager always shows that I2C HID device cannot start (code 10). The following message appeared with recovery attempts

    • A request for the HID descriptor failed (most often), or
    • The device failed the SET_POWER command, or
    • One byte was expected in the report descriptor but not found
I also did update from Windows update and LG update center. All things have been updated to date. No luck to make touch screen work again.

Touchpad always works without issue. What else can I do to fix the I2C HID device error and bring touch screen back to work?

    Thanks.

Uninstalled KMDF HID Minidriver for Touch I2C Device

I recently upgraded to windows 10, and have had problems with my touchscreen driver. When I touched on the screen or on a capacitive button, the area of the screen that the actual finger touch effected was less than the total area of the screen. On boundaries random things happened. I uninstalled a "KMDF HID Minidriver for Touch I2C Device" driver, which has obviously stopped the touchscreen from working. I'm using a Chuwi Vi10, but this is probably irrelevant. I already have another one that is working perfectly, also running windows 10. It lists both a "HID-compliant touch screen" and the "KMDF HID Minidriver for Touch I2C Device" that the other tablet does not have. I can't find a way to reinstall this driver, as every time the automatic driver update search for the unknown device fails, and I can't find the manufacturer (Silead) on the list of drivers.

Any ideas on how I could get the working driver of the working (identical) tablet on the driverless one? Essentially I just need to be able to get the touchscreen working which is the only thing not functioning after the update to windows 10. I haven't been able to roll back to windows 8 either.
