Windows 10: I2CHID Device Driver Issue - Dell Latitude 3490

Dear Support Team,


As you could see the Subject/Question, which is being very self-explanatory, I'm facing this issue for the past 5months and still fighting the battle against it.


I have gone through almost every forum, redirecting me to multiple branches of the same set of solution, which eventually are not solving the problem.


1. Tried uninstalling the driver and restarting my System - Works like a charm for 2days and then again Fails to be like a permanent solution.


2. Performing update to the Driver - same as the above mentioned, not working to be a permanent solution.

Dell Latitude E4310, missing driver, Windows 10

Hello,

I started with a fully functional Dell Latitude E4310 (circa 2011) with Windows 7 pro. Microsoft get windows 10 app came up all green for upgrading to Windows 10. Upgraded, and the laptop became very slow. It's basically become unusable. Before you ask -
it has 8Gb RAM.

Investigation (too little too late):

I'm missing one driver after upgrading.

Device type: Other devices

Manufacturer: Unknown

Location: on PCI Express Root Complex

No idea what this device might be or if it's related to my performance issues. Should have made a list before upgrading.

Now (again, too little too late), I check Dell's website - for drivers. They have no plans to support Latitude E4310 with Windows 10.

So. Other than _running_ back to Windows 7 as fast as I can, does anyone have any suggestions?

Dell Latitude E6500 Sound Issues

1. Run Audio Troubleshooter

Windows Key+I > Update & security > Troubleshoot > Playing Audio > Run the troubleshooter

Troubleshooting couldn't identify problem.

2. Take actions related to Audio Driver

Windows Key+X > Device Manager > Sound, Video & game controllers > Right Click on the entry below (if more than one, then you will have to repeat the steps for all) > Properties > Driver Tab >

A. Uninstall - Uninstall Device and restart to reinstall it automatically

Completed this step twice.

B. Download and reinstall the driver from computer manufacturer's website - If you face issue, let me know your computer make and model?



Ive searched for the driver on the DELL website. But the options are limited. DELL does not list W10 as an operating system for this PC. Although its working absolutely fine apart from the sound issue.

So since uninstalling the driver I cannot manually add it and I cannot update it though Microsoft updates function

3. Check Speaker / headphone is not disabled and is set as default

Type Sound in Windows Start Seach box > Click Sound > Under Playback tab, right click on an empty space and select, Show disconnected devices and Show disabled devices > Select Speaker and click on Properties and make sure that it is is enabled > You may also
check if the Speaker that you are using is set as default.
