Windows 10: iCloud deleted everything in my user profile. Any way to restore my files?

I was attempting to back up my pictures with iCloud Photo and installed it in a different directory than the default. Normally, it default downloads to c:\users\[user_name]\icloudphoto, but as this would interfere with syncing to OneDrive and for other reasons, I changed that to c:\users\[user_name]. When I did so, everything in my user profile was deleted, including desktop, documents, pictures, etc. literally everything customized to my profile as if iCloud Photo completely overwrote it. The files are not in my Recycle Bin or anywhere that I can find. Unfortunately, I don't have any restor

Shute I never thought about system restore. But its been more than a week now, don't know if I can go back that far. But even then will it put back user files?

I cant remember if it recovers old files OR leaves new files on the computer even after you do the restore. I havent used it in a while.
