Windows 10: iCloud for Windows App not properly working as not recognizing my latest Windows update

After installing the most recent Windows 10 update ver 1909 inlcuding all additonal updates the icloud for Windows does not properly work anymore. Every morning I am getting a warning message from icloud for Windows stating "you are using an old Windows version and therefore your photo section functions will partly be limited". Means, I cannot download photos using this windows app but only upload pictures.

Obviously I removed the app and re-installed it - in fact 2-3 times - with the same result.


Is this a well-known problem and a solution planned?

Windows and Icloud Mail etc: Failing to initialise

Could you please help me with the below questions:

1. Are you aware of making any changes to the computer prior to the issue?
   
2. Do you receive any error message when the spinner stops?
   

I suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below:

Method 1: Uninstall iCloud application.


I would suggest you to Sign out from the iCloud account from the app, then uninstall the application.

1. Press Windows
   and R key together on your Keyboard.
   
2. Type appwiz.cpl and hit enter.
   
3. Select the iCloud application and click on Uninstall.
   

Method 2: Reinstall iCloud application.


Step 1:

I would suggest you to ‘Download
the latest version of iCloud’
from the apple website. Follow the Onscreen instructions and install the application. For more information, check the article on
Set up and use iCloud for Windows.


Step 2:

Once the installation is completed, tap on the Windows key on your keyboard, search for ICloud app. Right click on the app and click on
Pin to taskbar.

If you are using Surface PC, I would suggest you to follow steps mentioned in the Microsoft article about
Using Surface with iPhone, iCloud,
and iTunes.

ICloud app not working in Windows 10

I understand it can be frustrating when your devices get into such situation, but we will try to get it sorted for you.
To understand the issue better, we need few information.

• Did you observe any changes to the system recently, such as Updates to driver or Windows?
  
• Since when did this issue occur?
  

However, you can go ahead and try these steps in the order it is mentioned.

1. Sign out from the ICloud app in the PC.
   
2. Uninstall the app completely from the control panel.
   
3. Restart the PC
   
4. Reinstall the ICloud app and sign in.
   
5. Check the box for Mail, contacts, Calendars and Tasks.
   

If the issue still persist then check if this issue occurs in another user account
.Please follow this article to ‘Create
a local user or administrator account in Windows 10’ and check if the issue still persists.



Please check with the steps above and reply with the status of the issue.
