Windows 10: iCloud for Windows

I have repeatedly tried to download iPhone for Windows so I can download all my pictures from iCloud to my laptop and then remove most of them from my phone. No go. I'm told by the laptop that I don't have Windows Media Player installed. Wrong. It is installed. This really should not be this difficult, but I'm getting pretty frustrated with what should be a very simple process. Thank you.

I can't open iTunes or iCloud in Windows 10

Steps:

1. Open regedit (Win+R, "regedit")
2. Enter key in address bar
3. Deprecate key
   • Opt A. - delete
   • Opt B. - rename something different (e.g. prefix with "_")
4. Close and re-open to observe result
