Windows 10: iCloud verification problem: An unknown error occurred.

Hi all,I had to reset my iCloud password on my iPad. iPad working fine since.I also have iCloud on my Win 10 PC, which before this point was working fine. After the password change, naturally iCloud on PC wanted me to re-login. I put in the new password, which it accepted, and then asked for a verification code from the iPad for 2-factor authentification. I put in this code on the PC. iCloud on PC then says "an unknown error occured."Tried uninstalling, reinstalling, restarting CPU, no luck.Thoughts?

adding iCloud email account to Windows 10 Mail app

You may encounter difficulties in adding your iCloud account in the Windows 10 Mail app due to incorrect email configuration settings. Let us analyze some information to get a proper resolution. Please answer the following questions:

• Just to verify, are you receiving any error messages? If so, can you specify the error/s? You can also send us a screenshot.
• Do you remember enabling two-step verification on your iCloud account? If yes, please turn it off or use the app password to sign in.

 

Windows and Icloud Mail etc: Failing to initialise

Could you please help me with the below questions:

1. Are you aware of making any changes to the computer prior to the issue?
   
2. Do you receive any error message when the spinner stops?
   

I suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below:

Method 1: Uninstall iCloud application.


I would suggest you to Sign out from the iCloud account from the app, then uninstall the application.

1. Press Windows
   and R key together on your Keyboard.
   
2. Type appwiz.cpl and hit enter.
   
3. Select the iCloud application and click on Uninstall.
   

Method 2: Reinstall iCloud application.


Step 1:

I would suggest you to ‘Download
the latest version of iCloud’
from the apple website. Follow the Onscreen instructions and install the application. For more information, check the article on
Set up and use iCloud for Windows.


Step 2:

Once the installation is completed, tap on the Windows key on your keyboard, search for ICloud app. Right click on the app and click on
Pin to taskbar.

If you are using Surface PC, I would suggest you to follow steps mentioned in the Microsoft article about
Using Surface with iPhone, iCloud,
and iTunes.
