how to reset the whole icon thingy on windows 10?

To better understand the issue please let us know

1.Did you make any changes prior to the start of the issue?

2. Do you use any cloud based storage?

It is supposed to indicate NTFS compression. Right click on the partition/volume in question select properties, and see if it is on.

Thank you for keeping us posted and we appreciate your patience. Let me assist you further from here.

Since some of the icons do not display correctly, I suggest you to rebuild the cache icons in Windows and check if it helps.

• Press Windows key + X, select
  Command prompt (Admin) to bring up elevated Command prompt.
• Type in the following commands till the computer restarts by itself.

ie4uinit.exe -ClearIconCache

taskkill /IM explorer.exe /F

DEL "%localappdata%\IconCache.db" /A

shutdown /r /f /t 00

Hi, considering rebuilding the icon cache, which I think is what you're asking about:

or do a general search and find this:

But, noting the comments in the tutorial, this may or may not fix your particular problem.

If not, please could you say exactly what's wrong and perhaps what led to it being wrong if you know.

 

i tried to delete iconcache but still no luck i ended up deleteing the folder in windows start menu location *Sad my pc Icons is fkced up
