Windows 10: Icon Problems

Hello,

I have a HP X360 convertible laptop.

I was trying out Nox Emulator and I made a mistake of resetting some settings by a third party app

(Tweaking.com - windows repair ver 2.11.2).

All app preferences were reset. There were tons of notifications regarding this.

Now many icons in Taskbar and start menu doesn't work. There are empty icons for many.

Its a PDF file but no icon appears.





One in Yellow box (settings) doesn't work.


Ones in Green boxes work but no icons. Its just text of app name. Some doesn't even have text


The green square in task bar is a web page shortcut and I can't unpin it.

• Are you trying to hide icon in the task bar.

If yes I suggest you to follow the below steps.

• Type in search bar “Turn system icons On or Off”.
• Select the option “Turn system icons On or Off”.
• Turn off the icons which you want to hide.

Windows 10 1709 System Restore problems...


That seems to be an attempt at Option 2 in the tutorial, which requires you to
a. Boot to a command prompt (Did you?)
b. You then seem to be mixing steps 3,4 and 5, thus your command is incorrect.

I suggest Option 1 is easier.

If you still have problems, please repost listing each specific step and saying which option from the tutorial you are using. Thanks.
