Windows 10: icon spacing of desktop icons after the text resizing bug.

There is a horrible bug in the system win 11 after using multiple times enlarging or decreasing textsize . After some tries to have the right text size, I have enormous spacing between the desktop icons. It is impossible to get the original setup of icons again. The workarounds on this forum do not solve anything . There is no command to go back to default spacin,g which would solve the problem. After every textsize resizing the icon spacing gets even more. Resolve this bug Microsoft!!

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community and your interest in Windows 10.

Method 1:

To change the desktop icons take the steps below:

· Right click on an empty area of the desktop

· Select ‘View’

From here we will have three options:

· Large Icons

· Medium Icons

· Classic Icons

Method 2:

To resize the icons on Windows 10 follow the instructions provided below and check if it helps.

• Press Windows logo key + I key.
• Click on System.
• In Display tab, increase the percentage or bar under change the size of text, apps and other items.
• Click on Apply button.

Increase Win7 Max Desktop Icon Text Line Char Amount

Yep, you need to make the icon area larger or the text smaller.

Icons smaller:

You can do the text and icons, both, in the "Windows color and Appearance" > "Advanced Appearance Settings" :

I found out how to resize desktop icons, see below ,

To change the desktop icons take the steps below:

· Right click on an empty area of the desktop

· Select ‘View’



From here we will have three options:

· Large Icons

· Medium Icons

· Classic Icons



When you select the options listed above the icons will change based on the size selected.
