Windows 10: Icons for certain programs showing up blank

I have 2 programs whose icons suddenly stopped showing. It's both on old shortcuts, new shortcuts and the .exe file in itself as well, so even though I change the shortcut icon, the main icon still stays blank. The 2 programs are CEMU (Wii U emulator) and Assassin's Creed Revelations (it comes with about 3-4 exe files, ACRMP for multiplayer, ACRSP for singleplayer, etc). Only the ACRSP.exe icon is blank, while the others work.

Any idea what the cause may be, and how I fould fix this? I already reset the iconcache about 3 times and it still didn't do anything, so it seems like this problem is specific to those exe files in particular. I should also mention that some programs have .ico files in their directory, but these 2 programs don't. How could I change their icons? Thanks for your help!

How to fix taskbar showing generic blank icons on Windows 7 professional?





These icons correspond to Windows Explorer, IE and Office 365 programs.

Steps i took to resolve issue, but did not help are:

1. In order to fix generic blank icon issue on taskbar i killed explorer.exe and restarted it but this did not resolve issue.
2. Ran quick repair on Office 365 & restarted Windows.

 

Blank shortcut icon GPU-Z

It's not fixed, today my GPU-Z icon is a blank shortcut icon again..
And it says GPU-Z.exe does not contain an icon
