Windows 10: Icons for old DOS programs remain blank in Windows 10 32-bit

Since the question at https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/icons-for-old-dos-program-not-remain-blank-on/31bd578d-17da-4999-a258-e678f21aed16 is locked, I'll ask the question again and answer it.When I setup an older DOS program for instance, WordPerfect 5.1 to run in Windows 10 32-bit, the program runs fine after the NTVDM feature is installed. But when I setup a shortcut to that program it creates a *.pif file that always displays as a blank white icon no matter what Icon I change that *.pif file to. Workarounds that display an icon for the DOS program in Windows 7 no lo

on my Windows 7 32bit is working workaround:

example, using in shortcut something as this as shortcut program call:

C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe /c D:\FOXPRO1\FOXPROLN.EXE

decided that I can see icon on desktop.

But on my Windows 10 this workaround is not working at all and I can not find another solution and Icons of my old DOS program shortcut remains blank .

  Are you able to run DOS program on the .exe file?
  

I suggest you to click on Start icon and go to All Apps. Navigate to the MS DOS icon and right click on it. You will get an option to “Pin to Start”. Selecting
that option will create an icon on the Start Menu.

Now open start again and Drag and Drop the People App icon to the Desktop. The desktop shortcut will be created.

program are running fine, but the icons of it are blank on desktop.

The same problem was in Windows 7, and the workaround meaned before worked.

Now on Windows 10 I know no solution for this.
