    Hi people,My laptop Dell, Windows 10 was working fine until I turned it on yesterday and now it doesn't startup properly. The icons are missing from along the bottom and if I try to press start bottom left it doesn't work as when I hover the mouse pointer over it, it just shows a 'busy' symbol. I've also tried pressing 'windows' key+ various letters which also doesn't make anything happen. Strangely, I can click on the desktop icons, I clicked on Edge and it opens normally except that it is not connecting to the internet. The internet in the house is working fine on other devices.     Get message - Task Host is stopping background tasks - error messages on shutdown Windows 10 - PC will not shutdown

    Hello,

    I am getting the message - "Task Host Window - Task Host is stopping background tasks" - I get error messages on shutdown in Windows 10 - PC will not shutdown unless I force it. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix?

    Problem with the Task Host Window and the shutting down

    Hi Sayan_Gosh, thanks for your fast response! I will answer first all the four questions that you are asking me:

    • The PC that I'm using is a Gateway model DX4860 with previous Windows 7 Home Premium.
    • I have upgrade to Windows 10 using Windows update settings.
    • I have Norton Security Deluxe installed in my PC.
    • And finally, all programs were closed before shutting down Windows.
    I will execute your initial recommendations and the
    diagnostic steps that you suggest me; and I will let you know the status of the "Task Host issue".
