Windows 10: Icons moving on THREE Monitor system all 2560x1440

I am running 3 monitors at 2K - 1440p each 2560x1440. Home builder for 30+ years.ASUS X470 MB, Ryzen 7 3800X, 32G DDR4 2400, ASUS RTX-2070 8G ram2 outer monitors running DP, Samsung U28E590D These are 4K I run at 2K for my older eyes.The main center monitor ASUS VG32VQ1B 2K with 4k capability is on HDMI for compatibility with Nvidia Surround at 1440P 7860x1440 when I run that.This setup is for Sound, and video editing, Games, Streaming and assisting others through remote access with Teamviewer. Games in Surround at 7680x1440 look AWESOME! yeah, Old Gamer here. I have gone throug

Desktop Icon Keeps On Moving

That's because your resolution is changing each time. To test, try setting to 1024x768, arrange a couple of icons and then restart the PC. As long as the resolution after startup is still 1024x768, then the icons won't move. Trust me. *Wink

 

Icons move to the left on a 4K monitor

This issue might occur if there is display settings or icon settings.

• What is the make and model of the computer?

I suggest you to follow the steps below to change auto arrange icon settings and also update display adapter driver in the Device Manager. Check if it helps.



Step 1: I recommend you to change auto arrange icon settings.

1. Right click on Desktop screen.

2. Then click on View.

3. Uncheck mark on Auto arrange icons.



Step 2: I suggest you to update the latest driver for display adapter in the Device Manager.

1. Press Windows Key + R Key.

2. Then type “devmgmt.msc” without the quotes and hit on
Enter Key.

3. Expand Display Adapter.

4. Right click on the driver and click on Update Driver Software.

5. Follow the instruction to update the driver.

Desktop Icon Keeps On Moving

I see. I was using a 23" monitor before and the highest resolution was below 1080p so I guess windows remembers that monitors resolution right? I have tried de.das.dude suggestion, but everytime I turn off the computer after arranging the icons it goes back to misarranging the icons.
