Windows 10: Icons on the Taskbar and Desktop are not showing.

The icons on my desktop and taskbar are still there but just don't show. I can click them and they will be highlighted and the application will open but there is still no icon. On the desktop I can still see the application name below where the icon would be but still no icon.I have tried restarting my computer, and am using the latest version of Windows 11.Any help is appreciated :

Remove Linux Desktop Icons

I am not sure whether this will work (Ubuntu does not have icons like that on the desktop by default), but I suggest opening the trash bin and sweeping the icons into the window showing the trash bin.

 

System Icons on taskbar

Are you referring to the clock system icon on the taskbar?

If so, I suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below:

• 
  Click on the search bar on the taskbar.
  
• 
  Type system icons.
  
• 
  Under Turn System Icons ON or OFF, turn On the Clock and check with the issue.

Desktop icons moved to taskbar menu

Please try this:

• Right click an empty part of the Desktop and choose 'View' - Show Desktop Icons
• Right click the Taskbar, select 'Toolbars' and uncheck Desktop
