Identical Prism+ Ultrawide displays with different resolutions

I am running a new Lenovo Yoga Slim 7 just replaced X1 Nano Carbon that motherboard blew on - that was working fine on same configuration. Connected through USB C connected J5 create dock into my twin Prism+ wide curved monitors. Display 1 running off connection via Display Port and Display 2 running of HDMI into the port. I don't have a dual HDMI option. I could replace Display Port connector with VGA to HDMI connector. Display 1 is running 1920 x 1080 at 60Hz refresh rate, and it's horrible. Display 2 running at desired 2560 x 1080 resolution. I've read through a bunch of

this is the same question as:

    Redirecting

Unfortunately that thread is locked so I have no choice but to ask that question again, so that I could post a solution to the problem that worked for me, and hopefully this is useful to others. (Comment: I don't like this sites behavior of locking threads! That's so anti problem solving!!)

I have a configuration similar to RM. I have two identical display monitors attached to a docking station. Just is morning, I noticed that the two displays are displaying at different resolutions. I know in the past that they were displaying at the same resolution (3840 x 2160). The monitor which has the identity of "1/2" started displaying at a lower resolution. I'm not sure what resolution it was displaying at, all I can say is that it was just a lower resolution.

None of the solutions offered by the link above worked. I also don't buy the advice that it might be related to not having enough power to drive both displays at the higher resolution. I don't think there is any basis to that claim.

What solved the problem for me was changing the display scale factor. The display scale is only intended to change the size of text for apps and other items. So technically speaking it should not affect the screen resolution. My scale factor was set to 250, which was the recommended setting for my display resolution. I changed that value to 150 and the two displays are now both displaying at the 3840x2160 resolution.

    ------ more info -------

My docking station setup is a 2x2 configuration. If I switched to my second computer (running on WIndows 10) , it displays correctly. That observation got me to look at my update history on my Windows 11 computer that exhibited the problem. The problem for me is that I can't say for sure on which date the display resolution started happening. I think if may have happened in the last 2 or 3 months. All I can say with certainty is that today I finally really noticed the resolution difference and tried to resolve the issue. That said, I looked at the dates of my display adapter drivers. I have two: Intel(R) UHD Graphics 630 and NVIDIA Quadro T2000. (Not sure why I have two different drivers, but there you go) Windows scan for driver updates indicated that both drivers where current. However for the NVIDIA driver the scan recommended I check with nvidia for more recent driver updates. The date of my Nvidia driver (31.0.15.4609) was 11/2/2023. It's certainly possible that was the timeframe when the problem occurred. As far as windows system updates I see that I installed Windows 11, version 23H2 on 11/30/2023. It's also a possibility that's when this problem was introduced. The other quality updates I see since 11/30/2023 are PowerShell V7.41, .Net Framework 3.5 and 4.8.1 and security updates. I don't suspect that any of those updates would introduce this problem.

2 Identical Monitors Displaying Different Resolutions

Hi, I have 2 identical Acer monitors displaying different resolutions and can't figure out how to resolve.

Both monitors are attached to a Dell docking station via displayport cables. The docking station is hooked up to a Dell Latitude laptop via mini usb.

The first monitor is displaying at 2560 x 1440 and the other is at 1920 x 1080. Any help fixing this is appreciated!
