Windows 10: IE 11 shows as Chrome 39

Hi all. What's the story behind IE 11 showing as Chrome 39?

Whether or not I change to flags in IE 11, per this article, I notice that IE 11 is seen as being Chrome. Any news about why?





I have another Win 8.1 laptop with IE11, and it reports as IE 11 on Win 8.1, as expected.

Just dawned on me that the system isn't set up to properly ID the new engine; so, it falls back to something it knows (Chrome).

Cannot set IE 11 as default - WIN 10

I've had IE 11 as default ever since I went to WIN 10. Now Chrome has taken it over.

So... I went to Settings, Choose a default browser, and it only shows Chrome and Firefox as options!

IE 11 still works fine when I start it, but it is not an option for default now.

Ideas?

Missing log in box using IE11 for "express.co.uk"

Still haven't cured.

Interestingly if I browse (express.co.uk) with avant browser, there are
4 options regarding browsing engine.

Chrome & Mozilla options both show Log IN area.

If choosing either of the IE options ie IE Compatible or IE 11 Standards, there's

no log in box showing.
