Windows 10: IE11 (Edge) came pre-installed on my W10 and I can't either update it or get rid of it...

I've tried most popular methods like disabling the feature itself, and also tried powershell commands and cmd but it gives me an "access denied" message because it's write protected.

IE11 does not appear in W10 Pro programme list.

As per title, I can't set IE11 as default browser, and can only activate it through the Edge drop down menu, but the browser goes back to Edge when I close the IE11 page.

According to all my W10 Pro programme lists, IE11 is not installed, but I know it is.

I can find no way of repairing or re-installing IE11 within W10 Pro.

IE worked perfectly in my previous W7 Pro OS, within which the W10 'Upgrade' was carried out.

 

Cortana and Edge need to GO!

Edge and Cortana came pre-installed so you can't get rid of it. You can try the suggested steps here: https://superuser.com/questions/949814/how-to-disable-or-uninstall-microsoft-edge-in-windows-10. The updates are automatic in Windows 10 to keep your
device secure. If you're using Windows Pro, you can defer the upgrade.

 

W8.1 IE11 "Play to" in W10 EDGE

Hi,

With Windows 8.1 I'm able to "Play To" any video that I was watching in Modern IE11 with a simple
swipe right to left>>devices>>play

This worked not with only in Modern IE11 but in any Modern Media Apps (Photos, Videos, Etc...)

I think we suppose to have the same or more functions in W10.

How can I do this in W10 EDGE?

Did we have a functions downgrade?
