  3. Internet Explorer 11 on Windows 10

    Is IE11 checked here?

Control Panel | Programs and Features | Turn Windows Features On or Off.

    If it is.....................

To make IE11 the default browser in Win10: Control Panel | Default Programs | Set your Default Programs. Select Internet Explorer 11.

Hi, Search for Default in Settings, choose Default apps. Note more options in the 3 bottom right. Also more detail in Default Programs in the Control Panel which Settings is slowly replacing.

Thank you very much for your very prompt reply.

Unfortunately my old brain cannot get around instructions. Managed to change default to IE11 but went wrong in that all my Outlook MS2003 received result in a screen requiring me to save to a Documents Folder. These only show .exe files.

Tried linking but could not make any progress so decided to revert to Edge and accept "progress?"

Very sorry for delay but am in Malaysia travelling around with, sadly, my W10 laptop not my W7 desktop.

    Best,

I've never used Outlook, I'm afraid, so don't know what you're seeing there or what the connection might be with changing default browsers. Hopefully someone familiar with Outlook will comment.

Mm, a desktop could be a bit tricky.

In the first screen, clicking the icon next to Web browser should give you a list to choose from. I guess you did that.

I gave you the other options as some have found that URL links don't then open in the appropriate browser, so it's also necessary to set it here, for example:

That is the right area of the Control Panel but here is somewhat easier. To select everything for IE 11.
The first blue link option, you can have a look at the detail in the second blue link.

I no longer use the Outlook application, can't help there.
