Windows 10: IE6 and Digital Image Suite 10

I have been using MS Digital Image Suite 10 to straighten, crop, change size, change sharpness, change contrast, skew image in old documents associated with a pioneer cemetery in my home town. Now, it was not acting right a few days ago so I decided to delete it and reinstall it, which I have needed to do several times over the years, and it will not install. Says it needs MS IE6, which you MS have discontinued. I have looked at other photo editing programs available and I do not find anything that can do all these things for us. I am 82, am in sort of a hurry to finish this program befor

Microsoft Digital Image Pro or Suites

I had a similar problem where I had to abandon PictureIt! after XP. The problem is that these old image editors require an old version of IE, in my case ie6. I found a version of Photo Premium 10 last year where a registry hack would fool Win10 into thinking that IE6 was installed, allowing this 2004 program with a similar interface to PictureIt! (and Dig Img Pro 9 from web screenshots I can see) to be functional, letting me use old projects with this. Here's what PhotoPrem10 looks like -



Insert your orig install CD and check if ie6setup file is in the Redist/IE6 folder. If so, this hack may work on your DI Pro 9 too. If you want to PM me, I can put the install directions on my Onedrive and send you a link. Then if you want to try with your CD, I can put the registry entries and modified ie6.exe up to try. Or, if you think Photo Premium 10 will do most of what you want, I can upload the whole thing for you. Let me know if this helps, Cheers.

MS Digital Image Pro 10 with with Windows 10

If you search on the www there is a description of the required procedure.

Start the installation in the normal way.

Note the first warning about installing IE6, and continue.

At the second warning (that the IE6 installation failed) close all other open applications, and log off the user (Windows+X \ Shut down or Sign Out \ Sign Out)

The sign out will fail because there is an open application.

Wait a few moments and cancel the sign out.

The installation will continue with disk 2.

That refers to Picture It! 7 / 9 / 10 and Digital Image Suite 2006 but I just tried it with Digital Image Pro 10 and it works.

i recently had to do a clean Windows 10 install on my Windows 8 laptop.

as a result my programs were removed. when i attempt to install Digital image Suite it wants to check for updates and tries to access IE6 which is not installed because we now have edge instead. Is there a workaround to solve this issue?
