    IEEE 1394 Host Controller issue

Win 10 Pro 64bit free upgrade.

I ungradedmy home build PC Win 7, Ultimate OS, ( retail ), using the free Win 10 OS ISO.

I bit the bullet and did a fresh install, wiped everything, just a clean install of Win 10 Pro, this went without a hitch although some minor issues post upgrade.

All hardware appears to be working but in device manager there is a warning triangle next to IEEE 1394 Host Controller/1394 OHCI Compliant Host Controller. Clicking on this under the general tab it states " This device cannot start. (Code 10)
STATUS_DEVICE_POWER_FAILURE ". Under the driver tab I updated the driver but was informed best driver already installed.

Under the Events Tab it states " Device PCI\VEN_197B&DEV_2380&SUBSYS_2380197B&REV_00\4&2c652482&0&0028 was configured.
    Driver Name: 1394.inf
    Class Guid: {6BDD1FC1-810F-11D0-BEC7-08002BE2092F}
    Driver Date: 06/21/2006
    Driver Version: 10.0.16299.15
    Driver Provider: Microsoft
    Driver Section: Generic.Install.NT
    Driver Rank: 0xFF2005
    Matching Device Id: PCI\CC_0C0010
    Outranked Drivers:
    Device Updated: false
    Parent Device: PCI\VEN_1022&DEV_9605&SUBSYS_82F11043&REV_00\3&267a616a&0&28

I have no idea what the above means, I don't know what the device is that's failed?

How do I resolve this issue?

    :)

After Windows 10 upgrade IEEE 1394 (firewire) gone

    Hi!

I have followed the steps above with downloading the KB2970191 driver.

After that I right clicked and choose install on the Leagacy driver inf file.

I then open the device manager in the control panel to find the IEEE 1394 Bus host controllers.

But nothing has happened. The driver is not there, and it does not even mention IEEE 1394.

I have restarted my computer but still nothing has changed.

I have windows 10 home and I'm trying to get my Focusrite soundcard to work.

    What should I do?

  4. IEEE 1394 Host Controller issue

    Hi Jaylob4.

Head to the manufacture's web site and get the driver from them. See if this corrects issue.

I'm thinking Windows has installed a generic driver which is failing. I doubt that hardware has failed. It was working in 7 with the correct driver. The clean install has replaced or mis-identified the device, one members opinion.
