Windows 10: If I backup sync my files to OneDrive, will the files still available in my laptop...

I am new to OneDrive, so please forgive me if my question is quite stupid: If I backup sync my files to OneDrive, will the files still available in my laptop C:\Users, or completely moved to OneDrive?

OneDrive File Syncing and Backup

If you stop the Backup, new files that are created will only save on to the PC and will not going to get synced to Onedrive cloud and will not be available to other devices, they will not be protected in Onedrive. Turning On the Backup means it will autosave all the new and existing files to your Onedrive Cloud, once its done saving, Onedrive will Sync your files so that it will be available to other devices that you will use.

Question #3: Yes, you can go directly to Onedrive folder in File Explorer and manually create a folder there and copy and paste your Music files directly to it.

 

OneDrive File Syncing and Backup

Just set up a new Windows 11 laptop for a senior in a nearby retirement community. Copied all his data to the new machine. Signed into Onedrive and went to "choose folders" in settings. Desktop, Documents and Pictures were available to "check", but music was not. He has lots of music in his Music Library.

Question #1: Why is music not showing up as an option to sync in OneDrive settings, "choose folders"?

Question #2: What is the difference between OneDrive Backup process and the OneDrive syncing process. If the files are syncing, what is the point of Back Up? I must be misinterpreting something here.
