Windows 10: If I buy a windows 11 key and tie it to my new Microsoft account instead of my old one,...

I currently have a windows account and its already activated with a windows key. I'm planning to buy a new windows 11 key and set it in a new Microsoft account, but I will use the key in 2 months time. Will I be able to activate windows in the new pc that I get with the new key in my new account?

How to replace old Microsoft Account with a new Microsoft Account

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community. I understand your concern and I am glad to assist you.

I would suggest you to switch your Microsoft account to a Local account first and then switch back with a new Microsoft account. Please refer to the following steps:

Step 1:

• Type Manage your accounts
  in the search bar and click on it
• Click on "sign in with a local account instead"
• Press next and complete the process.
• If you do not have a local account, leave the credentials blank and proceed.

Step 2: Now, on the newly converted Local account, follow these steps to add a new MSA.

1. In the Start search, type "Manage your accounts" and press Enter.

2. Choose 'Accounts'.

3. Click on "sign in with a local account instead"

4. Enter the Microsoft account ID and Password and click Next.

How do I buy Windows 11 with a business account?

Hi,

I have a MSFT 365 Business Premium subscription, which is tied to a work account. I am the admin for the organization.

I need to buy a Windows 11 license key, but I can't figure out how to do that with the work account. Some things I've tried:

• Open the Microsoft Store app and buy a license -- this doesn't work because I can't sign into the Store with my work account
  
• Buy a license online from Buy and Download Windows 11 Pro | Microsoft -- this doesn't work because I can't login with my work account and I can't create a new Microsoft account with that email address
  
• Buy it from this MSFT site: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/business/windows-11-pro -- this doesn't work because I don't need a new device, just the Windows 11 license key
  

Can anyone provide guidance how I can buy a Windows 11 license key with my work account?
