What am I deleting exactly when I open an App Store storage and delete the cache and data?

How delete apps cache/data like at Android?

I have Windows 10 mobile and now Whatsapp has 550 MB

At Android one can delete app data, but at Windows phone the only options is uninstall the app and move app to SD card

There are a trick to delete app cache and data, other than uninstal and install again?

I cannot delete or add apps to 'life at a glance'

Method1:

  Open Start menu and Click All Apps.

  Right click on the app you want to add in Life at a glance and select Pin to Start.

  The app will be added to Life at a glance.
  

Method 2:

  Open Start menu and Click All Apps.
  
• 
  Drag the app from app list and drop the app in Life at a glance part.

  The app will be added to Life at a glance.
