Windows 10: If I factory reset my pc will it remove everything on the account as well as pc?

I just got a hand me down pc from my stepdad and all of his stuff is on it. I’ve looked up if a factory reset will remove his accounts from the system I’ve already tried to remove them from the account section of the settings but there’s nothing that says remove account from his accounts and they will remove the accounts. however, I do not want to remove the stuff that’s on his account or delete his account I just want his account removed from the pc so I can just have only my account on there. Is it safe to factory reset and nothing happen to his account on his current pc?

To Reset you’re PC,

* On your login screen, hold Shift button,
then right click on Power button and select
Restart

* Select Troubleshoot> Reset this PC > Keep my files.

Remove account

I suggest you backup your personalized files first before removing the account.
To delete an account, follow these steps:

1. Press WIN + X keys and click Command Prompt (Admin) from the menu.
2. Type the following command and press Enter. Replace test with the name of your sister's account. Code:

 

After factory reset, microsoft account is still there

I suggest that you add a local account first on your PC, before removing the other account. Follow the steps below:

• To create a local account on your Windows 10 PC:
  

1. Press the Windows key + R.
   
2. Type netplwiz, and then click OK.
   
3. Click Add.
   
4. Click Sign in without a Microsoft account (not recommended).
   
5. Click Local account, type a username, and a password (if you'd like one).
   
6. Click Next, and then click Finish.
   
7. Sign out of the Microsoft account you want to delete, sign in using the local account you created, and then remove the account you want to delete.
   

• To remove a Microsoft account from your Windows 10 PC:
  

1. Click the Start button, and then click Settings.
   
2. Click Accounts, scroll down, and then click the Microsoft account you would like to delete.
   
3. Click Remove, and then click Yes.
