    If I got a free upgrade from 7 and do a hard drive wipe, do I need to rebuy 10?


    I'm having issues (blue screen error)updating windows to the latest version so I'm thinking of doing a hard drive wipe but I want to know if I should budget for a new copy of 10.

    windows 7 upgrade after hard-drive wipe

    My windows 7 product key was previously used to upgrade to windows 10. When the hard drive was wiped, the windows 10 installation got deleted. I got windows 7 back up and running, but I need to use the old product key to get the free upgrade
    again. Is this even possible?
